Yuling Yan

I am a fifth year Ph.D. student in the Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University, advised by Professor Yuxin Chen and Professor Jianqing Fan. I received my bachelor's degree in mathematics and statistics from Peking University in 2018.

Starting July 2023, I will be a Norbert Wiener Postdoctoral Associate in the Institute for Data, Systems and Society at MIT, mentored by Professor Philippe Rigollet and Professor Martin Wainwright. I will join Department of Statistics at University of Wisconsin-Madison as an assistant professor in Fall 2024.

Research interests: high-dimensional statistics, non-convex optimization, reinforcement learning, optimal transport as well as their applications in economics and social sciences.
